The documents of the Giacomo Puccini Foundation, preserved in the Puccini Museum – Birthplace, is a corpus of approximately 1000 documents among which stand out music and autograph letters, original photographs, drafts of librettos, printed music. Documents of various nature concerning the life and work of the Maestro complete the collection.

The Archive is largely made up of the Collection of the Giacomo Puccini Foundation, which over the years has been enriched thanks to acquisitions, donations and documentary funds granted on free multi-year loan by different organizations and institutions.

Almost all of these documents have been cataloged and digitized and will soon be available for online consultation thanks to the inventorying and digitizing of the documentary heritage project, promoted by the Soprintendenza Archivistica e Bibliografica della Toscana and financed by Direzione Generale Archivi of Ministry of Culture.
