Lucca Puccini Days is a Festival that the city of Lucca, a land full of historical and musical tradition, dedicates to its most prestigious citizen. The Festival is at its 3rd Edition 2016/2017, with an intriguing mix of events dedicated to the Maestro.
The event is the result of a great collaboration between the district of Lucca, Giacomo Puccini Foundation, the Theatre of Lucca, Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation and the sponsorship: MIBACT – Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Regione Toscana and AGIS Toscana.
Some of the most famous national and international guests will participate: Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, Peppe Servillo, Fiorenza Cedolins, Nicola Paszkowski, Elisabetta Salvatori, Peter Guth, the Orchestra della Toscana, the Ensemble Berlin, the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra.
The program of this 3rd edition of Puccini Days Festival will give you many various experiences, from lyric to jazz, rock and gypsy music and deviate to narrative theatre. There will be also meetings organized in collaboration with territory associations.
On November 25th , one of the most famous Puccini’s lyric operas will open this great event at the Theatre of Lucca: La Bohème, with the direction of Marco Gandini, the setting by Italo Grassi and the orchestra leader Nicola Paszkowski, who will be also the choral director of the Chorus of Tuscany.
